Psalm 139

For the director of music. Of David. A psalm.

A POWERFUL PSALM BECAUSE IT TELLS US OF GODS KNOWLEDGE OF EVERYONE OF US.

1 You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.

2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.

3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.

4 Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.

GOD KNOWS WHERE WE ARE, WHAT WE ARE DOING &. WHAT WE ARE SAYING

GOD KNOWS US INTIMATELY GOD IS IN OUR LIVES

7 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?

8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,

10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

THIS IS QUITE A FANTASTIC GOD WHO HAS FOLLOWED YOU FROM IRAN TO HERE AT DARLINTON. YOU HAVE ALL COME TO THE FAR SIDE OF THE SEA, AND THE LORD GOD HAS GUIDED YOU.

23 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.

24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

THIS IS AN ALL KNOWING ALL CARING GOD WHO KNOWS US BETTER THAN WE KNOW OURSELVES. WE ASK HIM TO SEARCH OUR MINDS AND THE INTENTS OF OUR HEARTS TO KNOW OUR ANXIOUS THOUGHTS AND LEAD US IN THE WAYS OF ETERNITY. HOLD THAT THOUGHT

The more I get to know you and other Iranian brothers and sisters the more I understand the immense pressures, concerns and worries you have. When any of us have uncertainties that we have no control over we become anxious.

1 When you are waiting for a home office interview your life is on hold you can do very little except of course learn the English language.

2 When your accommodation is not of your choice or the area in which you live and you may be moved at a moment’s notice.

3 When you have the concern over the relatives you have left in Iran and the inability to contact them.

4 When you have constant concern over whether you will get through the interview or face rejection and whatever that mean. This idea of Rwanda.

5 Once you get your 5 years you have to secure some accommodation and a job or an education.

6 you then maybe move away to get work or pursue your career.

7 if you are unwell

Etc etc.

Nothing seems certain and uncertainty breeds concern and concern breeds anxiety

Brought here for a reason. you have been BROUGHT here by the Almighty God, who has called YOU to the Lord Jesus Christ through whom you can gain your salvation and an entrance into the Kingdom of God.

HOWEVER DIFFICULT THIS LIFE IS, GOD HAS PROMISED

1. Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

2. Romans 8:30.

And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

ALL OUR POSSIBLE TRIALS WORRIES AND ANXIETIES AS WELL AS ALL THE BLESSING IN THIS LIFE ARE WORKING TOWARD OUR ETERNAL LIFE

WHAT WE SOMETIMES HAVE TO APPRECIATE IS THAT THERE WILL BE DIFFICULTIES IN OUR LIVES

James 1 v 2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything

CIRCUMSTANCES ARE BOUGHT INTO OUR LIVES SOME GOOD SOME BAD AND WE ARE FACED WITH THOSE SITUATIONS AND WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT, AND WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT AS BROTHERS AND SISTERS.

TWO VERSES ABOUT PEACE FROM PHILIPPIANS

Philippians 4:6 & 7

. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

PRAYER THE WONDERFUL HONOUR OF SPEAKING TO THE LORD GOD WE HAVE ACCESS THRO THE LORD JESUS TO THE GREATEST POWER IN THE UNIVERSE. TRY AND MAKE PRAYER A NATURAL EVENT BE ABLE TO BE CONSCIOUS OF THE LORD PRESENCE ALL THE TIME.

POWER IN POSITIVE THINKING

Philippians 4 v 8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

THE WORD THINK IN THE ENGLISH VERSION IS " TO TAKE AN INVENTORY" SO ALL THESE WE ARE TO MAKE NOTE OF FOR OUR DAILY LIVING AND MEDITATION.

THE WORDS OF JESUS

Matthew 6:25-26, ESV Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? (Jesus speaking)

Matthew 6:27

Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life Mat 6:33 But first be concerned about God's kingdom and his righteousness, and all of these things will be provided for you as well. Mat 6:34 So never worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

DEAL WITH EACH DAY AND DON'T BE OVER ANXIOUS ABOUT TOMORROW.

Jesus Walks on the Water

Matthew 14 v 22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24

and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.

25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.

27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”

29 “Come,” he said.

Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

PETER STOPPED LOOKING AT THE LORD JESUS THE SAME CAN HAPPEN TO US. WE CAN BE SO OBSESSED WITH OUR OWN PROBLEMS SO OVER WHELMED THAT THE STORMS HAPPENING IN OUR OWN LIVES CAN OVERCOME US.

HEBREWS 12 V 1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Psalm 34:7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him,

and delivers them

Psalm 34:15 The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

We come once more to remember Jesus in the way he asked us to. We remember that thro’ him we have access to God himself. It is Jesus who will gladly carry our burdens and calm our anxieties, It is Jesus who will take our hand if we feel we are about to drown.
